Council Signs Accord To Work Together
At a special signing ceremony today, Vaughan Council unanimously endorsed the Vaughan Accord, a historic document that commits all Members of Council to serving the City of Vaughan in a manner which reflects a positive image of the City and instills civic pride.
“By signing the Vaughan Accord today, we are setting the stage for the next four years of Vaughan Council,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. “This represents an important milestone in municipal governance. We are committed to establishing a new era of mutual respect and cooperation by endorsing a document that puts the promise of a productive Council in writing.”

The Vaughan Accord outlines Council’s commitment and dedication to the task of city-building, and states that “a vibrant and successful city depends on a Council that is prepared to work together, constructively, and always in the best interest of the City of Vaughan.”
In his speech, titled ‘Realizing Our Potential,’ Mayor Bevilacqua stated that the Vaughan Accord sets out the principles that will guide Council and is aligned with the City’s core values of Respect, Accountability and Dedication.
