Culture Days is back in Vaughan
The City is hosting a flag-raising to kick off
the celebrations on Sept. 23
Vaughan
is a city that recognizes and celebrates arts, culture and heritage! As part of
this commitment, the City of Vaughan will once again play host to Culture Days
this fall with events taking place locally until Sunday, Oct. 16.
This
free, national event brings the community together to celebrate diversity, artistic
and cultural endeavours and the spirit of togetherness.
To kick
everything off, the City will be hosting a flag-raising event on Friday, Sept.
23 at 10 a.m. in the courtyard of Vaughan City Hall, at 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.
Attendees will enjoy a live musical performance by Vaughan-based artist Daniel
Monte and can participate in cultural learnings from Vaughan Public Libraries.
The three-week
festival will feature art exhibits, dance and martial arts programs, cultural
celebrations among many other highlights. The program also includes a Truth and
Reconciliation Day virtual event on Sept 30 and a Sisters in Spirit Vigil at
City Hall on Oct 4. To view the complete list of events and activations taking

Events
like Culture Days are one of many ways the City supports cultural and artistic
diversity in Vaughan. Enriching residents’ lives with art and cultural
expression through events, exhibits and festivals is part of providing Service Excellence to citizens as
outlined in the 2018-2022 Term of Council priorities.
The Ontario Culture Days Festival is an annual
