Curb Appeal Winners Recognized By Council

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recently recognized 20 Curb Appeal winners for their efforts in helping to beautify the City. The Curb Appeal program features residents and businesses that take pride in beautifying and maintaining their properties.

“Our Curb Appeal ceremony was held to thank the recipients for their dedication, pride and hard work in creating some wonderful landscapes in their neighbourhoods,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. “The homes and businesses whose efforts were recognized by the Curb Appeal program help to increase civic pride and attract newcomers to our City.”

In its sixth year, the Curb Appeal program is part of the City’s My Vaughan Blooms initiative. During the months of July and August, My Vaughan Blooms volunteers travelled the City looking for properties with curb appeal. As well, the program was advertised to the public asking them to nominate a homeowner or business by contacting the City by phone or email. A total of 600 locations were selected and a Curb Appeal sign was placed on each front lawn. Of the 600, two homes from each of the City’s five wards were selected to receive special recognition for their efforts in beautifying their neighbourhood.

“Vaughan is a green City committed to environmental sustainability,” said City Manager Clayton Harris. “Our actions today will help to ensure a healthy environment for future generations. The Curb Appeal program helps to remind residents and businesses that we can all contribute to protecting the environment.”
