The Thornhill Outdoor Pool to open on June 18
Summer is here and it’s time to get back in the outdoor pool!
Starting Saturday, June 18, the City of Vaughan’s Thornhill Outdoor Pool, located at 26 Old
Yonge St., opens for the summer on a modified schedule. The facility features a
30-metre, five-lane swimming pool and accessible shallow water wading pool
with beach entry.
Throughout June, the
City’s outdoor pool will run recreational swimming on weekends only from 12:30
p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. To celebrate Recreation and Parks
Month in June, the recreational swims scheduled for this weekend are free of
charge; pre-registration is required at vaughan.perfectmind.com. Walk-ins will not be
permitted.
The grand opening on
Saturday, June 18 will feature music, water games and free freezies (while
supplies last) for swimmers to enjoy.
The pool will open
daily starting Canada Day on Friday, July 1 and operate on a holiday schedule.
The full schedule takes effect Saturday, July 2 through to Monday, Sept. 5, and
includes designated times for recreational, length, and parent and tot swims as
well as aquafitness classes.
Canada Day (July 1), Simcoe Day (Aug. 1) and Labour Day (Sept. 5) schedules
Aquafitness: 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Length swim: 11 a.m. to noon
Recreational swim: 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday: 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday: 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday: 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Monday-Sunday: 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., and 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Parent and tot
Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday: 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Recreational swim
Daily at 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
