Enhancements are coming to Blue Willow Square

The City of Vaughan is revamping Blue Willow Square – and you can help guide its transformation. Should this Ward 3 park include a shade structure? Would you use an outdoor fitness area? Tell us which enhancements you want to see at Blue Willow Square!
The park, located at 99 Blue Willow Dr., currently has a small play structure, a central gathering area with a fountain, benches and trellises, a modest garden, trees and an open greenspace.
To better serve the community, City staff have identified the following proposed enhancements:
- a shade structure
- a pollinator garden and naturalized planting
- central area upgrades (i.e. paving, seating areas, landscape planting)
- playground enhancements
- an outdoor fitness area
- an activity feature area
The City is seeking your input! Which of the options proposed do you feel will most benefit the neighbourhood? Which should the City prioritize? Want to learn more about each option and have a say? Here’s how you can get involved:
Attend an Open House
An in-person Open House will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Chancellor Community Centre (350 Ansley Grove Rd.). This is your chance to speak with City staff and comment on preferred enhancements.
Bring your kids! An activity table will be available where kids can paint their own rock. The rocks will be collected and displayed in the park.
Can’t attend in person? Take the survey!
Following the Open House, an online survey will be available until Wednesday, April 5 so you can have your say in the future of the park. In this survey, you will be asked to review each option, provide your thoughts and rank the proposed enhancements from least to most beneficial. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
