Enjoy some family fun in Vaughan this festive season

‘Tis the season for warm cocoa, family dinners and colourful candy canes. There are many places in Vaughan for you and your family to go to enjoy the season.

Before making your plans, be sure to check out the City’s facility closure schedule. City facilities and services will operate on alternate schedules over the holidays.

Vaughan City Hall and Joint Operations Centre closures

  • Monday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 30
  • Facilities will resume regular business hours on Monday, Jan. 2

Vaughan Community Centres

  • Visit the Holiday Central page on vaughan.ca/recreation or contact your local community centre for holiday activity schedules.
  • All community centres will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 25 and Sunday, Jan.1.
  • The following community centres will be open on Saturday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 31 from 7  a.m. to 1 p.m., unless otherwise noted:
    • Al Palladini Community Centre
    • Father E. Bulfon Community Centre (8 a.m. to noon)
    • Garnet A. Williams Community Centre
    • Maple Community Centre
    • North Thornhill Community Centre
    • Vellore Village Community Centre
  • All other community centres will be closed these days.
  • The following community centres will be open on Monday, Dec. 26 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
    • Al Palladini Community Centre
    • Garnet A. Williams Community Centre
    • Maple Community Centre
    • North Thornhill Community Centre

Vaughan Animal Services

  • Open Saturday, Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Closed Sunday, Dec. 25 through Tuesday, Dec. 27.
  • Regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. resume on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
  • Open Saturday, Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Closed Sunday, Jan. 1.

Vaughan Public Library closures

  • Ansley Grove Library and Dufferin Clark Library are closed Saturday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Dec. 26.
  • All other libraries are closed from Saturday, Dec. 24 at noon through Monday, Dec. 26.
  • Ansley Grove Library and Dufferin Clark Library are closed Saturday, Dec. 31 through Sunday, Jan. 1.
  • All other libraries are closed from Saturday, Dec. 31 at noon through Sunday, Jan. 1.
  • Libraries will resume regular business hours on Monday, Jan. 2.

Waste collection information

  • Waste collection will not be affected.
  • Christmas trees will be collected from Jan. 10 to Jan. 20 on your regular collection day.
  • Visit vaughan.ca/waste for the complete schedule.

For information about holiday hours and City programs and services, please call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281. The contact centre will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 25 through Sunday Jan. 1 with the exception of Thursday, Dec. 29 when it will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
