Fun Programs for Residents in New Spring and Summer Recreation and Culture Guide
Can’t wait for warmer weather? Start planning your spring and summer leisure activities now with the new Recreation and Culture Guide. Look for it to be delivered to Vaughan homes by Jan. 31 and available at all community centres and libraries starting Feb. 1.
The award-winning publication features a variety of programs, from traditional swim lessons to trendy new courses such as robotics, crafting, archery, animation, t-ball, floor hockey, cosmetics, in-line skating and special needs music enrichment.
The Recreation and Culture Guide contains active living opportunities for all ages and interests, including:
- Free fitness and swim passes
- Free March Break swims and half-price recreational swims for children and youth
- More than 50 different summer day camps for children aged three to 16 years
- Parks, trails, skateboard parks and splash pads
- Pay-as-you-go and membership options for aquafitness, swimming, sports and fitness
- Older adult groups and bocce
- Employment and volunteer opportunities
- Information about RecAssist – a fee-assistance program for low-income individuals
Residents can register for aquatic and general programs at the same time.
Registration start dates:
- Summer day camps: March 3 and 4 (refer to camp location)
- General programs: March 5
- Swimming lessons: March 6, 10 and 11 (refer to specific pool)
- Swimming leadership: Ongoing
The Recreation and Culture eGuide, a digital publication with direct program links to online registration, can be viewed at vaughan.ca/eGuide starting Jan. 31. The eGuide can also be viewed on the award-winning RecApp – available for free download at vaughan.ca/RecApp.
