The City is offering student fitness memberships this summer

Back by popular demand, the City of Vaughan is offering student fitness memberships this summer. From now until Wednesday, Aug. 31, students aged 13 to 25 years old can purchase one-month fitness memberships at 30 per cent off ($32 plus tax).

As a Vaughan Fitness member, you will have access to six fitness centres, including all classes. Also included with a monthly pass is recreational swimming, skating, shinny hockey and drop-in sports offered at any Vaughan community centre. You can enjoy other amenities like the squash courts, saunas and indoor tracks, plus add-on services like personal or group training or a consultation with an in-house nutrition specialist.

To purchase a student fitness membership, complete a Vaughan Fitness Student Membership Application (PDF) and bring the form to your local community centre to process the membership. Note: signed parental consent is mandatory for youth 13 to 17 years old. Proof of student ID is required upon purchase.

Looking for other ways to stay fit this summer? On Saturday, June 11 the City is hosting its annual Spinathon and Yoga in the Park for RecAssist. This annual fundraiser is held at Maple Community Centre, with spin classes taking place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and yoga from 11 a.m. until noon.

Proceeds raised will be donated to RecAssist, the City's fee assistance program, which helps subsidize the cost of swim lessons and recreation programs for low-income families in Vaughan. Separate registration for each hour of the event is required at vaughan.perfectmind.com, along with a minimum donation amount of $25 per hour of participation. Tax receipts will be provided for donations over $25. Non-members welcome.
