With Family Day around the corner, have you considered opening your home to a four-legged friend? If so, make the Vaughan Animal Shelter your first stop!

On Saturday, Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Vaughan Animal Services is hosting an adopt-a-thon for dogs in our care at 70 Tigi Crt., Unit 47. Come meet them – there’s no appointment needed!

The adoption fee for dogs during the adopt-a-thon is $150, which covers the cost of rabies vaccines, sterilization, microchip implantation. For Vaughan residents it also includes the first annual pet licence. Debit and credit are accepted. Cash is not accepted.

As part of the adoption process, you must submit an adoption application and everyone in your household must meet the dog you are hoping to get. If your application is approved, you will be notified within the week, and an appointment will be booked for you to pick up your dog.

Don’t wait until the adopt-a-thon to see which pets are hoping to meet you. Check out some of the dogs looking for a loving family on the City’s website. There are cats, rabbits and other animals, too!
