Have questions about waste collection?

You probably have apps on your smart device to edit photos, check your emails and play games, but did you know there’s an app for keeping track of your waste collection schedule?

The Recycle Coach app is one of the best ways you can search what waste items go where, learn about upcoming collection services in Vaughan – like Double-Up Days and leaf and yard waste collection – and even get optional notifications sent to your phone when it’s time to put your waste at the curb!

Download it today from Google Play or the Apple App Store!

Here’s a breakdown of the app and how you can use it to your advantage:

Sort your waste like a pro

You’ll no longer have to guess what item goes where – simply refer to Recycle Coach for all you need to know about blue box recycling, green bin organics, garbage and more in Vaughan. Type the name of an item in the What Goes Where search bar and the tool will pull up information on how to dispose of it, along with details on curbside collection requirements.

If you search for “yogurt container,” for example, you will find out that it should be placed in the blue box and it should be empty and rinsed of food residue.

Have your collection schedule at your fingertips

With Recycle Coach, convenience is the name of the game. You’ll have your personalized collection schedule available right on your smart device, including optional notifications for when it’s your collection day. The app also includes reminders for the 7 a.m. set-out time and what types of bins and bags are accepted at the curb. And if you need to purchase a new blue box or green bin from the City of Vaughan, it’s got you covered with all the information you need!
