Vaughan’s Winterfest celebration returns Feb. 11!

Get ready for a fun-filled day at the City of Vaughan’s 34th annual award-winning Vaughan Celebrates Winterfest, presented by TD and event sponsor Tim Hortons! This free, family-friendly winter celebration returns on Sunday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Vellore Village Community Centre (1 Villa Royale Ave.).

 

Come meet Canadian Olympic figure skater Roman Sadovsky, and JJ and Cody from CoComelon. The event will feature an official welcome from Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council and will be emceed by Justin Barkie from Kreative In Dance Styles (K.I.D.S). 

 

Starting at 10 a.m., there will be a complimentary pancake breakfast (while supplies last) and free giveaways. Also, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., there will be free recreational swimming offered at the community centre. 

 

Additional indoor and outdoor attractions will include: 

  • Family entertainment by Darrelle London, Canadian Kindie (kids’ indie) singer/songwriter 
  • Magic and illusion show by Brandon David Magic
  • Asian drumming performance by Raging Asian Womxn Taiko Drummers (RAW Taiko)
  • Musical performance by Canadian singer Ioanna
  • Fiery performance by the Fire Guy Show

  • Horse-drawn wagon rides

  • To accommodate all attendees, shuttle buses will run on Sunday, Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) and Emily Carr Secondary School (4901 Rutherford Rd.) to the event site. There will be no on-site parking at Vellore Village Community Centre for this event.
  • Off-site parking locations within walking distance include Fossil Hill Public School (2 Firenza Rd.) and St. Veronica Catholic Elementary School (171 Maria Antonia Rd.). 
  • Accessible parking will be available at St. Jean de Brebeuf Catholic High School (2 Davos Rd.).
