Have your say on proposed traffic enhancements in the Martin Grove Road area
The City of Vaughan’s Corridor Reviews continue with Phase 2 of the Martin Grove Road traffic study, and you’re encouraged to get involved.
The Corridor Reviews are a series of studies designed to respond to growing transportation demands and the ongoing need to address road safety and sustainable modes of travel. A corridor refers to a linear road and its associated land uses.
We are now looking for your feedback on the proposed traffic improvements for the area. Here is how you can get involved:
Attend an open house on Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Father E. Bulfon Community Centre (8141 Martin Grove Rd.) to learn more about the proposed recommendations and participate in collaborative discussions with members of the project team and community. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
Complete an online survey by Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. to provide your feedback on recommendations to improve traffic flow and road safety along Martin Grove Road.
Why is the City doing a study in this area?
This area was selected based on community interests, such as monitoring traffic congestion, traffic circulation, truck traffic movements, operating speeds, pedestrian and cycling safety and on-street curbside activity.
By assessing traffic operations in the area, we can identify opportunities to address road safety and the overall transportation experience for all users – including those who walk, cycle, roll, take transit or drive on or around Martin Grove Road. In addition to examining vehicle speeds, traffic volumes, site conditions, existing traffic control and calming measures, City staff is working with the community to collect feedback on existing conditions and propose recommendations.
These reviews will enable City staff to develop short- and long-term plans to continue to implement best practices identified along Martin Grove Road.
