Provide input on a variety of city-building initiatives

As one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, the city of Vaughan is rapidly changing – and you can have a say in its transformation. The City understands that public consultation is a vital part of the city-building process. This is why teams across the organization work to provide public engagement opportunities for citizens. Input collected is used to help inform municipal decisions and shape the future of Vaughan.

Join the current opportunities below by visiting vaughan.ca/HaveYourSay.

Apply to join Vaughan’s Addressing Anti-Black Racism Special Advisory Committee

The City is committed to fostering a culture that is diverse, inclusive and equitable where all citizens, employees, businesses and visitors are provided with accessible opportunities to engage and participate. Do you want to help further initiatives that address anti-Black racism and share your lived perspective? By joining the City of Vaughan’s new Addressing Anti-Black Racism Special Advisory Committee, you can help guide the creation of an action plan to address anti-Black racism in Vaughan. Public recruitment is underway for 10 Black committee members from the community. Submit your application by Friday, Aug. 5 to be considered. Learn more at vaughan.ca/DEI.

Have your say on the new Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan

The City’s Service Excellence Strategic Plan is being updated for the new Term of Council (2022 to 2026). City-building is a collective effort, which is why you are encouraged to get involved and help ensure Vaughan continues to be a great place to live, work and play. Share your thoughts through an online survey, open until Wednesday, Aug. 31. Visit vaughan.ca/ServiceExcellence for more information.

Help inform the City’s new Integrated Urban Water Plan

The City is developing a new Integrated Urban Water Plan to address the community’s water, wastewater and stormwater needs for current and future generations – and we need your input. To help inform the plan, an Integrated Urban Water Plan Environmental Assessment is underway – this assessment includes a review of existing water infrastructure, such as watermains, and wastewater and stormwater drainage systems. Have your say by reviewing the plans online and providing input via a survey until Sunday, July 31. You can also submit comments directly to the project team by email at urbanwaterplan@vaughan.ca. Details are available at vaughan.ca/UrbanWaterPlan.

Did you recently have your say?

As engagement opportunities continue, the City has launched an Engagement Feedback Survey to collect input on Vaughan’s engagement practices – what project did you get involved in? How did you participate? How was your experience? Were you informed? Did you feel listened to? Complete the online survey to provide input into how the City can make its engagement process even better. The survey will be open throughout 2022 and can be accessed through vaughan.ca/HaveYourSay.
