Stay cool at the City’s splashpads, pools and community centres


If you’re looking for ways to stay cool this summer, why not visit one of the City of Vaughan’s 21 splashpads? With locations across the city, you can stop by a splashpad, local pool or community centre to beat the heat! Learn more about these amenities below: 

Splashpads
You’re in the splash zone now! Enjoy the outdoors while staying cool at one of Vaughan’s 21 splashpads. They are open daily until Monday, Sept. 6 with extended hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Remember, splashpads are not supervised and require everyone to take precautions. The size of each splashpad varies between parks, with larger and more complex water-play areas found in district parks.

Indoor pools
Put on your goggles and flippers and enjoy a recreational, length, parent and tot or aquafitness session at your local community centre. Vaughan has nine indoor pools to choose from that are open for you to enjoy. Pre-registration and pre-payment is available for your convenience at vaughan.perfectmind.com one week in advance of scheduled recreational/length swims, and 98 hours in advance of aquafitness classes. Limited spots will be available for walk-ins one hour before the start of a recreational activity. Indoor pools will be closed on Monday, Aug. 1.

Thornhill Outdoor Pool
Cool off at the Thornhill Outdoor Pool, located at 26 Old Yonge St. The pool is open daily and includes designated times for recreational, length and parent and tot swims as well as aquafitness classes. 

On Monday, Aug. 1, the Thornhill Outdoor Pool will operate on holiday hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for recreational and length swimming and aquafitness classes. 

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required at vaughan.perfectmind.com. Registration opens one week in advance of the scheduled swim. Walk-ins will not be permitted. If you require assistance registering, call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or visit your local community centre. For schedules and fees, visit vaughan.ca/swim.   

Community centres
Vaughan’s 10 community centres offer air-conditioned public spaces, washrooms and change rooms as well as water bottle filling stations. A full list of community centres and their hours of operation can be found at vaughan.ca/recreation. Vaughan community centres will be closed on Monday, Aug. 1.
