Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council presented a cheque on behalf of the City of Vaughan for $11,341 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation following its participation in Foundation's Big Bike event earlier this year. The presentation was made during an Oct. 8 Council meeting.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Big Bike event took place in May, when 116 City staff, residents and community participants divided into four teams to raise funds to support heart and stroke disease research by cycling through Vaughan on a four-wheel, 29-seat bike. The bike route left City Hall, travelled west on Major Mackenzie Drive, south on Keele Street, west on Naylon Street, north on Gram Street and east on Major Mackenzie Drive to City Hall.
