Help keep catch basins clear this spring!

A catch basin on a rainy day

This time of year, we can expect to be hit with plenty of rainfall, and all that water needs somewhere to go! That’s why it’s important that catch basins – stormwater drains located in the road – are kept clean and clear. We need your help clearing catch basins!

The resident living closest to a catch basin is encouraged to help remove leaves, other yard materials and debris, if it’s safe to do so. If a catch basin is blocked or covered, water can pool and flood on the street when it rains.

If you see water ponding or flooding on the street near a catch basin, call the City at 905-832-2281 or email service@vaughan.ca

By doing your part this spring, you’ll be making a positive difference in keeping the community safe. For more information about the City’s stormwater system, visit vaughan.ca/stormwater.
