Apply for the Greenspace Strategic Plan Stakeholder Advisory Group by Feb. 2

Are you passionate about the future of Vaughan’s greenspaces, like parks, trails and forests? You can have a say in the future of these areas by joining the City of Vaughan’s Greenspace Strategic Plan Stakeholder Advisory Group. Apply online by Friday, Feb. 2!

Parks and greenspaces are essential to our health and well-being – they help us live active lives and connect with nature and each other. The City is working to build, maintain and enhance these areas  – including pedestrian pathways, urban forests, valleys, wetlands, open space areas and naturalized areas – as part of the Greenspace Strategic Plan

This important study, which began in the fall of 2023, will evaluate the current state of greenspaces across the city and provide strategies and recommendations to guide future planning, design, implementation and management of this network over the next 30 years.

Public engagement has been a key part of this project to date, with online surveys, a community walk, stakeholder meetings and pop-ups already complete. Up next, there’s another opportunity to get involved – by applying to join the Greenspace Strategic Plan Stakeholder Advisory Group!

The advisory group will be a forum for residents, stakeholders and special interest groups to discuss greenspace challenges and opportunities, review information and materials, and provide feedback to inform the Greenspace Strategic Plan.

The City is recruiting up to 18 residents to join the group, serving alongside City staff and stakeholder organizations. A total of four meetings will take place from February to June 2024.

Want to take part? Submit your online application before Friday, Feb. 2. Successful candidates will be notified directly by mid-February.
