Summer swim lessons start on Monday, July 4

Are your kids ready to get back in the pool this summer? Warm weather is almost here, which means it’s time to get your kids back in the water and learning to swim. Starting Monday, July 4, all learn-to-swim lessons will be offered at community centre pools. Schedules are available online at vaughan.perfectmind.com and registration is now open. The online registration system features enhanced search filters, allowing you to sort by level, location, date and time.

Swim lessons have returned to pre-pandemic formats –  instructors are teaching in the water, and parents/guardians no longer need to participate in the water for early development swim levels, including Preschool 1-5 and Swimmer 1-3, for both group and private/semi-private lessons. For special needs swim lessons, participants must provide their support worker or guardian if a volunteer is not available. For more information, email specialneeds@vaughan.ca.

Summer aquatic leadership
Swim instructors and lifeguards are prestigious part-time jobs, and Vaughan is always hiring. Training and certification in aquatic leadership courses – delivered by the City’s aquatic leadership staff – will be available at select community centre pools during July and August. Pre-registration is required and available at vaughan.perfectmind.com. For more information, view the Aquatic Leadership brochure (PDF).

If you require assistance registering, call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or email RecCSD@vaughan.ca. For more information on registered programs, refer to our Frequently Asked Questions webpage.
