Join Curbside Giveaway Days this weekend!
Make plans to participate in the City of Vaughan’s Curbside Giveaway Days this weekend! This waste reduction program allows you to place gently used items, such as clothing, sports equipment, books and more, at the curb for others to come and take, free of charge. It’s a great way to offload your unwanted belongings while not contributing to garbage landfills.
There are only three weekends left to participate! The remaining Curbside Giveaway Days schedule for 2024 is as follows:
- Saturday, Aug. 24 to Sunday, Aug. 25
- Saturday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Sept. 29
- Saturday, Oct. 26 to Sunday, Oct. 27
How to participate
Here are some tips to have a successful curbside giveaway weekend:
- Place your materials curbside on the morning of designated Curbside Giveaway Days, beginning at 7 a.m.
- Any items that are not claimed must be brought in by 5 p.m. on Sunday. Items left at the curb after that time could result in a by-law violation.
- Download and print a “FREE” curbside giveaway poster (PDF) to place on your items.
- Keep items you do not want to give away close to your home or inside to avoid confusion.
- Keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear.
- Only take items that are marked “free.”
- Respect private property and do not walk on people’s lawns or gardens.
- Obey traffic laws at all times – please do not block traffic or driveways.
- Spread the word about your items on social media using #VaughanCurbGiveaway – we may reshare your post!
