A virtual hiring event for part-time program instructors is taking place on Saturday, Aug. 27

Fall is around the corner and the City of Vaughan is getting ready for an exciting lineup of recreation programs – and that includes hiring new staff to lead the sessions! Join us on Saturday, Aug. 27 for a virtual hiring event to fill positions for part-time program instructors at local community centres.

During the day, there will be 100 20-minute interviews conducted. To be considered, email your resume to RecJobs@vaughan.ca by Monday, Aug. 22 at 11:59 p.m. The subject line of the email should say ‘Virtual Hiring Event’ followed by the name of the position you’re interested in.

Program instructors will teach a broad range of programs this fall starting on Saturday, Sept. 24. Individuals ages 16 years and older with specialized skills in the following areas are encouraged to apply: 

  • cooking
  • dance (acro, ballet, hip hop)
  • fine arts (cartooning, drawing, painting)
  • fitness (yoga, Pilates, tai chi, barre, Zumba)
  • health, wellness and nutrition 
  • preschool (early childhood education)
  • skating  
  • sports (basketball, ball hockey, baseball, soccer, volleyball, badminton, pickleball and squash) 

Daytime, evening and weekend shifts are available, depending on the position. The City is also hiring camp counsellors for full-day P.A. Day programs on Friday, Sept. 23, Friday, Oct. 21 and Friday, Nov. 18, as well as December Break Camps, which run from Wednesday, Dec. 28 to Friday, Jan. 6. Compensation for positions varies by position and ranges from $15 to $19.85 per hour.

Upon application, candidates will be directed to register online at vaughan.perfectmind.com for the virtual hiring event. Once they have registered, a Recreation Services staff will call candidates to coordinate an interview time, and email them a link to the virtual interview.
