Mayor Bevilacqua congratulates Public Works on two awards
City staff demonstrate commitment to putting citizens first through Service Excellence
During today’s Committee of the Whole meeting, Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua issued the following statement:
“As a trusted city-building partner, Vaughan’s Public Works portfolio is responsible for delivering vital frontline services to our citizens and it gives me great pleasure to recognize this hard-working team on recently being presented with two important awards.
“The City of Vaughan has received the 2019 Canadian Network of Asset Managers Tereo Award, as well as the 2019 Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) Professional Development Award in the over 100,000 population category.
“The Tereo Award recognizes innovative approaches in asset management that affect business improvement. Congratulations to Deputy City Manager of Public Works Zoran Postic, Director of Infrastructure Planning and Corporate Asset Management Vince Musacchio and the entire team for their outstanding efforts.
“The City’s Corporate Asset Management division focuses on developing a robust approach to infrastructure risk management that ensures the highest levels of service for Vaughan residents.
“The City was also recognized by CAMA for our employee engagement program called Vaughan Innovators.
“This initiative encourages staff to develop new ideas that support the City’s strategic plan. Similar to the popular CBC show Dragons’ Den, staff have the opportunity to present their proposal with the prospect of being awarded a budget to support its implementation.
“I am proud this initiative is being recognized and I look forward to seeing these ideas come to life.
“These two achievements reflect the commitment of the Public Works team to providing Service Excellence in everything they do.
“On behalf of Vaughan residents, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude for their hard work and dedication to our city.”
