Flags remain lowered to half-staff at City facilities, online book of condolences is available to express messages of sympathy and comfort

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua has issued the following statement.

“Today, we learned that one of our very own citizens, Andrea Bradden of Woodbridge, lost her life tragically during the deadly van attack that took place at Yonge Street and Finch Avenue. Communities across Canada and the world have been shaken by this unthinkable act of violence. The pain is felt even closer to home here in Vaughan. Our city is mourning, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and loved ones of Ms. Bradden.

“When tragedy strikes one of us, it affects us all. We can take great comfort in knowing people have come together to provide comfort to one another in the aftermath of this horrific attack.

“The flags remain lowered at half-staff at City Hall and all associated City facilities, including parks and fire stations. I encourage people to share their condolences, and personal messages of love and comfort to the Bradden family, and to all victims’ families, by sharing messages on the City’s online condolence page: https://a.pgtb.me/XjrQzc.

“Once again, on behalf of the City of Vaughan, we offer our heartfelt sympathies on the tragic loss of this innocent life and to all families who lost loved ones.”
