Vaughan Sports, a municipally-developed physical education program providing youth ages 6 to 15 instruction in futsal, soccer, basketball and tennis, launches this fall at community centres across the City. Features of the program include skill development through coaching, drills and game play, as well as an end-of-season championship tournament between competing community centres. All players receive a swag pack that includes a jersey, wristband, water bottle, poster and three Vaughan Fitness Centre passes for their parents.

Many first-time programs will start in September and will include: 88 Keys Kindermusik, FITWALL vertical training, Young Rembrandts art and drawing classes, Mad Science laboratories, iPad 2 Video Editing with iMovie, Microsoft Xbox & PC Interactive Game Creation, and adult martial arts Muay Tai, Plyometrics and Cardio Kickboxing. Also new are one-day nutritional workshops such as Cold & Flu, Craving Change and Nutritional Label Reading for People with Diabetes.

Before and after school programs, December and March break camps, pay-as-you-go and membership options for aquafitness, swimming, sports, skating, shinny hockey and fitness can be found in the guide.

Vaughan’s outdoor amenities, including parks, trails and ice-skating rinks are highlighted in the guide, as are holiday and community events where residents can enjoy free activities.
