Nick Spensieri joins Vaughan as Deputy City Manager

Mr. Spensieri to lead Vaughan’s new Corporate Services Portfolio
 
City Manager Daniel Kostopoulos is pleased to announce that Mr. Nick Spensieri will be joining the City of Vaughan as the new Deputy City Manager, Corporate Services.

Mr. Spensieri has more than 25 years of senior management leadership, operations and project management experience with both public and private sector organizations. Most recently, Mr. Spensieri served as a Vice-President with Metrolinx where he helped oversee the agency’s multibillion dollar effort to implement Regional Express Rail in communities across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Mr. Spensieri’s local government experience includes traffic, transportation and parking management positions with the City of Mississauga and the former cities of Etobicoke and North York.

As Deputy City Manager, Corporate Services, Mr. Spensieri will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the effective and efficient delivery of services of the following departments: Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer, Office of the Chief Information Officer and Office of the City Clerk. Mr. Spensieri will play a key role in improving organizational culture, governance and accountability. Each department is fundamental to ensuring that all Vaughan employees can successfully undertake their workplace responsibilities, serve the competing needs of the broader community and deliver on the City’s unwavering shared mission of service excellence.

In this leadership position, Mr. Spensieri will serve on Vaughan’s Corporate Management Team, where he will undertake an important and collaborative role to work with his colleagues to set the overall strategic direction of the corporation.
