Before you hunker down and pack up your things for the cold months ahead, take advantage of the last Curbside Giveaway Days of 2023! From Saturday, Oct. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 29, participate by clearing out any gently used household goods you no longer want, then placing them at the curb for your neighbours to take, free of charge. This program is the perfect opportunity to reduce waste and give your items a second home.

Here are tips to participate successfully:

  • Place your materials curbside on Saturday, Oct. 28 starting at 7 a.m. for your neighbours to discover.
    • Any items not claimed must be brought in by 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29. Items left at the curb after that time could result in a by-law violation.
  • Download and print a “FREE” curbside giveaway poster (PDF) to place on your items.
  • Promote your items by using #VaughanCurbGiveaway on social media.
  • Keep items you do not want to give away close to your home or inside to avoid confusion.
  • Keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear.
  • Only take items from other properties that are marked “free.”
  • Respect private property and do not walk on people’s lawns or gardens.
  • Obey traffic laws at all times – please do not block traffic or driveways.
