Colder weather
doesn’t mean the outdoor fun has to end! The City of Vaughan invites you to get
some exercise and fresh air while spending time at local parks this fall. Visit
vaughan.ca/PlayVaughanLocal for your guide to
everything available to explore.
Park amenities
The City’s parks offer a variety of outdoor activities for all ages to enjoy. The following amenities remain open until the end of November 2021, weather permitting:
- Basketball courts
- Bocce courts
- Outdoor exercise equipment
- Playgrounds
- Skateboard parks
- Tennis and pickleball courts
Artificial soccer fields are open until Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, weather permitting.
The following amenities are now closed for the season:
- Baseball diamonds
- Natural soccer fields
- Volleyball courts
All washroom facilities in parks are now closed for the season and will reopen in May 2022. Parking lots, excluding at North Thornhill Regional Park, Concord Thornhill Regional Park and Bindertwine Park, are closed. Please note, aside from walkways, park amenities are not maintained throughout the winter. The off-leash dog park at 299 Racco Pkwy remains open all year.
Trails and neighbourhood walks
Vaughan’s trails and neighbourhood walks are available to enjoy year round! Choose from 12 different trails throughout the city: Jersey Creek Neighbourhood Walk, Mackenzie Glen Neighbourhood Walk, Maple Nature Reserve Nature Walk, Marita Payne Neighbourhood Walk, North Maple Regional Park Nature Walk, Peter Rupert Neighbourhood Walk, Rainbow Creek Neighbourhood Walk, Riverwalk Neighbourhood Walk, Sonoma Heights Neighbourhood Walk, Sugarbush Nature Walk, Vellore Neighbourhood Walk and William Granger Greenway Nature Walk. There’s one for all ages, abilities and comfort levels.
