Get paid to do what you’re good at! If you’re an ice skater, hockey player, sports superstar, science wiz or artist – you have a teachable skill. The City of Vaughan is hiring part-time Recreation Program Instructors to work at Vaughan community centres for our fall programming, which kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 23.

Interested? You’re invited to attend a virtual hiring event in August for positions at community centres across the city, or one of four in-person hiring events being held for positions at the newly re-opened Garnet A. Williams Community Centre.

To guarantee an interview time, register in advance for a hiring event at vaughan.perfectmind.com. Registration opens two weeks before each hiring event. Qualified candidates will be contacted to coordinate an interview time for the following dates:

Virtual hiring event (for all community centres)

  • Saturday, Aug. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In-person hiring events (for Garnet A. Williams Community Centre, 501 Clark Ave. West)

  • Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 16 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 30 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Walk-ins will also be accommodated. Candidates should come prepared with a resume and three references.

Compensation ranges from $15.50 to $26 per hour, depending on the position. Perks include flexible work hours and shifts (including evenings and weekends), competitive wages, ongoing training and a discount on a Vaughan Fitness membership. In other words, it’s the perfect job for students!

  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Minimum 16 years of age
