Shawn Hook comes to Vaughan on June 8

Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park series is back in-person!

The City of Vaughan’s 28th annual Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park series presented by TD and event sponsor Tim Hortons is back in-person starting in June. This free event will take place throughout the summer starting on Wednesday, June 8, with Canadian singer/songwriter and multiple JUNO Award-nominated performer Shawn Hook.

This year’s schedule will feature professional entertainment for all ages with genres like disco, pop, oldies and rock. There are six concerts on select Wednesdays from June 8 to Aug. 10, weather permitting, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The full schedule is below:

  • Wednesday, June 8: Shawn Hook at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, Transit Square at 100 New Park Place
  • Wednesday, June 22 (Ward 5): Night Fever – Tribute to the Bee Gees, Dufferin Clark Community Centre, 1441 Clark Ave. W.
  • Wednesday, July 6 (Ward 2): Abbamania – The best of Abba, Sonoma Heights Community Park, 100 Sunset Ridge
  • Wednesday, July 20 (Ward 3): Simply The Best – A tribute to the Queen of Rock and Roll, Tina Turner, starring Karen Durrant, Chancellor District Park, 430 Chancellor Dr.
  • Wednesday, July 27 (Ward 4): Material Girls – Tribute to Lady Gaga, Adele and Cher, Outdoor Amphitheatre, North Thornhill Community Centre, 300 Pleasant Ridge Ave.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 10 (Ward 1): The Blushing Brides – The Original Tribute to The Rolling Stones!, Mackenzie Glen District Park, 200 Cranston Park Ave.
Accessible parking, pathways and washrooms will be available at each concert location, along with free ice cream while supplies last. Find additional details at vaughan.ca/concerts.

The 2022 event marks the return of in-person Concerts in the Park in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Concerts in the Park reflects the City’s commitment to active, safe and diverse communities, which is a priority in the Council-approved 2018-2022 Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan. By supporting and promoting community events, arts, culture and heritage, the City is continuing to foster a welcoming municipality with a high quality of life.
