Crews will collect up to six garbage items during the weeks of June 14 or 21

The City of Vaughan’s Double-Up Days are just around the corner! During the weeks of June 14 or 21, depending on your regularly scheduled collection day, you can get rid of excess waste by placing up to six garbage items at the curb – paid tags are not required.

Large or bulky items, such as mattresses and toilets, can also be placed curbside, and each piece counts as one item toward the six-item limit. Read the guidelines for setting out large or bulky items for more information.

All household hazardous waste (such as paint and pool chemicals), electronic waste (such as cellphones and laptops) and batteries are not collected curbside and must be taken to the York Region Waste Depot at 130 McCleary Crt. in Vaughan. Additionally, construction and renovation waste are not picked up curbside but can also be taken to the waste depot in Vaughan – fees apply. Remember, waste should be placed at the curb no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before collection and no later than 7 a.m. the day of collection.

Residential appliance and metal pickup

If you’re looking to dispose of large metal items and appliances, the City collects these by appointment only, on Thursdays. Book an appointment and pay through Service Vaughan or call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281. For more information, visit the City’s Appliance and Metal Pickup webpage.

Exchange or purchase a blue box or green bin

Do you need a new blue box or green bin? You can purchase these containers in person at select community centres or online through Service Vaughan and have them delivered right to your door. You can also sign up to exchange a broken City-issued blue box or green bin for a new one at vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.
