Some road closures in Vaughan following heavy rainfall

July 9, 2013

Several streets in the City of Vaughan are closed this morning following heavy rainfall on Monday evening.

The following roads are closed to through traffic until further notice:
  • Kipling Avenue between Teston Road and Kirby Road
  • Teston Road between Kipling Avenue and Pine Valley Drive
  • Stegman Mills Road between Kipling Avenue and Ravendale Court
  • Willis Road between Islington Avenue and Riverside Drive
  • King-Vaughan Line immediately east of Highway 27
  • Huntington Road between Rutherford Road and Major Mackenzie Drive
  • McGillivray Road between Rutherford Road and Huntington Road
Please use alternative routes around these closed sections. It is expected that all of these roads will be open within 24 hours (noon on Wednesday) for through traffic, with the exception of Willis Road.

Updates on closures will be posted on the City’s website and social media sites as they become available.

Regular waste collection will take place today, although there may be some delays so please leave your items out.

The City is also reminding residents to use caution around local creeks and ponds as water levels are high after the rainfall.
