Check the list of services that are continuing, delayed or suspended

In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Vaughan has reviewed and made adjustments to its regularly scheduled spring and summer public works operations. Services have been prioritized with a focus on the safety and well-being of everyone in the community, including front-line staff. Here is a list of what is on schedule, reduced, delayed or suspended.
 
Services that are currently underway or scheduled to begin:
  • Spring litter pickup in parks and trails
  • Boulevard maintenance
  • Regular inspection, waste collection and debris pickup at parks
  • Tree inspections
  • Street sweeping
  • Ditch cleaning and illegal dumping
  • Pavement marking (weather permitted)
  • Garbage, blue box and green bin collection
  • Leaf and yard waste collection
  • Water, wastewater, stormwater and stormwater management pond services, including the installation of new water sampling stations 
Services that are delayed or reduced:
  • Planting of beds, placement of hanging baskets and planters (suspended until further notice)
  • Weeding, pruning and mulching of shrub beds (at a reduced level)
  • Grass care (limited to cutting, not trimming)
  • Tree maintenance
  • Tree planting (deferred until September)
  • Tree stumping and tree pruning (suspended until July 1)
  • Road and sidewalk repair and maintenance
  • Guidepost and guiderail repair
  • Ditching and driveway culvert installations
  • Traffic operations and road safety, including new traffic control devices and calming measures
  • Streetlights, traffic signals and utilities
  • Speed message board programs
  • Water trailer event bookings
  • Water meter replacements 
All facilities within City parks remain closed to the public. This includes playgrounds, sports fields, tennis courts, splash pads, dog parks and any other facilities. Signage has been installed to reinforce the closures.
 
As well, all City facilities, including Vaughan City Hall, community centres and library branches, remain closed to the public. Many City services continue to be available online at vaughan.ca or by calling Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281. Library services are available at vaughanpl.info.
