Vaughan launches 10th
Annual Toy Drive to give children the gift of Christmas
It’s the most wonderful time of the year to spend with family and friends and share in the spirit of the season. The City of Vaughan is making a difference one toy at a time with the launch of its 10th Annual Toy Drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. Today, students, staff and parents from Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Elementary School joined Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua in a live televised broadcast to launch the campaign that benefits thousands of families a year.

The Spirit of
Generosity is a defining trait of our community. The City has set a goal to collect
15,000 toys that will be given to children in need this holiday season. New,
unwrapped toys for youth aged newborn to 18 years of age will be collected from
Monday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Dec. 6, at all Vaughan community centres, libraries
and fire stations. Vaughan City Hall will continue to collect donations until
Monday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. Gift cards and cheques are also welcome.
As part of Rogers
Hometown Hockey coming to Vaughan, the City will be holding a contest for local
schools to encourage students to fill up a hockey net with new toys. The school
with the most toys collected per capita will win a visit from the Rogers Hometown Hockey
crew with an assembly and special guests.

- Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service stations, including the Joint Operations Centre
- Toys can also be dropped off at Vaughan City Hall until Monday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.
- This is the 52nd annual CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.
- This program is one of the largest distributors of toys to those in need in the GTA.
- It also supplies registered charitable organizations, social service agencies, churches, and community centres with new unwrapped toys and financial donations.
