Statement on the passing of Nelson Mandela

“On behalf of the City of Vaughan, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of Nelson Mandela at this difficult time. Nelson Mandela was a true leader who has left a lasting mark on this world as a man who put the needs of others before his own. His legacy as a civil rights leader and his optimism in the face of adversity will never be forgotten. He was a true inspiration to all and the world is a much better place because of his contribution to freedom and peace.
