Summer in Vaughan!
Longer days and warmer nights are here, and, this summer, the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) is the place to be! Featuring a variety of arts, cultural and music festivals, along with community events, the heart of Vaughan’s downtown core has so much to see and do.
Here are some must-see events that will heat up your summer in Vaughan at the VMC:
Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park series
Start your summer off right with a night of live music outdoors! Today at 7:30 p.m., the 28th annual Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park series, presented by TD and event sponsor Tim Hortons, kicks off the summer season at the VMC (Transit Square located at 100 New Park Place). Featuring Canadian singer/songwriter and multiple JUNO Award-nominated performer Shawn Hook, this free event is the first in the series, which will be held on select Wednesdays from June 8 to Aug.10, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting. Vaughan International Music Festival
The music doesn’t stop there! A first-of-its-kind music festival is coming to Vaughan’s downtown core – and you’re invited! On Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12, the Vaughan International Music Festival will showcase music from cultures worldwide in the heart of the VMC, located at 200 Apple Mill Rd. Multi-platinum award-winning super group, The Tenors will be capping off the weekend with a special performance. To learn more, visit vaughaninternationalmusicfestival.com.

Officially opening June 20, the facility includes the City’s newest recreation venue – Vaughan Studios and Event Space, VPL’s latest branch – the VMC Library and VMC Express – and a YMCA Centre of Community. Located in the heart of the VMC at 200 Apple Mill Rd., it is just steps away from the VMC subway station, making it easily accessible to the entire community.
