Batting cage improvements at Vaughan Grove Sports Park made possible by Saputo sponsorship

Practising your batting swing this season? Hit the cages in Vaughan! The City of Vaughan recently made improvements to the batting cages at Vaughan Grove Sports Park (7401 Martin Grove Rd.), thanks in large part to a $50,000 sponsorship by Saputo Inc.

On May 16, Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council and City staff were joined by Saputo representatives to formally unveil the Saputo Batting Cages, which have been renovated to improve user experience and maximize operational efficiency. Renovations include new artificial turf surface upgrades, fencing improvements and batting cage signage.

In line with Saputo’s commitment to giving back to the communities that have helped it flourish, the Saputo Legacy Program was established – an initiative to invest in the quality of sports and health facilities. Local projects, like the renovations to the batting cages at Vaughan Grove Sports Park, enable Saputo to promote a healthier lifestyle for families and make a meaningful contribution where its employees live, work and play.

The sponsorship was co-ordinated by the City’s Economic Development team, which pursues innovative financial solutions to help support City programs, projects and services without relying on the City’s tax base. Alternative revenue generation supports the City in maintaining one of the lowest property tax rates in the Greater Toronto Area, solidifying Vaughan’s status as a city of choice with a high quality of life and enhanced resident services.
