Swing, skate and slide at Secord Park
Celebrating community and the outdoors at new playground
Parks and outdoor recreational spaces are vital to urban life in the City of Vaughan. These important spaces provide citizens with opportunities for walking, connecting with nature, meeting up with friends or neighbours, and participating in the benefits of play and sport.
Members of Council came together with residents on June 27 to tour the brand new Secord Park and celebrate its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Secord Park provides a wonderful outdoor area that allows for residents of all ages to enjoy leisure activities. Located in Ward 1, the park features a double tennis court, junior and senior playgrounds and a skateboard zone as well as a shade structure and spots for sitting and gathering. The park is located at 65 Secord Ave. near Highway 27 and Major Mackenzie Drive.
Vaughan takes pride in building public spaces that bring citizens together and are appreciated by everyone. The City’s parks strengthen our communities, build character in neighbourhoods and contribute to our cultural identity.
