Vaughan Accepting Nominations for Volunteer Recognition Awards

March 5, 2014

The City of Vaughan is inviting non-profit organizations and community groups to nominate their most outstanding volunteer of 2013 for a City of Vaughan Volunteer Recognition Award to celebrate and support National Volunteer Week in April.

Each organization or group may nominate one volunteer who meets the criteria in either the youth or adult categories – youth for individuals between the ages of 13 to 24 or adult for volunteers aged 25 years and older. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, March 20. Mayor and Members of Council will recognize the actions and efforts of these volunteers during an official ceremony held at City Hall on Wednesday, April 9.

National Volunteer Week, which runs from April 6 to 12, is a week-long celebration honouring the outstanding efforts of the millions of Canadian volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to making a difference at the local community level.
