Vaughan adds more city-building services online
Service Vaughan is
expanding! This is the City of Vaughan’s online services tool, enabling citizens
to submit service requests, report non-emergencies and track submissions 24
hours a day, seven days a week. In response to demand, the City continues to
innovate this function to offer a more modernized, efficient and streamlined
user experience – including with city-building efforts.
New to Service Vaughan is a paperless development planning application process!
By going digital with development planning activities, the City aims to optimize and transform the intake, submission and review process, and enhance service delivery.
This new upgrade will enable citizens and industry professionals to electronically submit development applications (including Pre-Application Consultation, Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment, Site Development, Part Lot Control, Interim Control, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Draft Plan of Standard Condominium, and Common Element/Vacant Land Condominium), application-related information and drawings virtually, with a secure login.
Already have a Service Vaughan login? Use that to sign in. Another new feature to Service Vaughan is a single sign on service – eliminating the need for multiple logins.
With these updates, a central repository for all applications is now offered. This includes the ability to easily view submissions, track progress and stay better informed on the status of applications, in real time. For planning staff, this feature enables a largely paperless process – applications can all be submitted, screened, reviewed and accepted, digitally.
Other building and development services are already available through the platform, including the ability to conveniently apply for, submit, track and pay for permits, all at the click of a button. As well, a variety of building, grading and engineering permits are available, including infrastructure engineering drawing requests, pool inspection requests, pool permit renewals, development permits, grading permits and more. Residents can also request a copy of their home survey, apply for a permit to construct a deck, shed, sunroom or pool, and use the online development charge estimator tool before signing a new lease.
In addition to these city-building services, Service Vaughan also receives requests for:
- animal services, including getting a pet licence.
- bids and tenders, including application submissions.
- by-law, including parking permits and paying for tickets online.
- litter, vandalism and graffiti, including reporting instances across the city.
- employment, including available job postings and application submissions.
- garbage and recycling, including tag purchases, bin exchanges and purchases, missed garbage and recycling collections and more.
- parks, trees and grass, including maintenance requests and complaints.
- recreation, including activity registration.
- roads and sidewalks, including maintenance requests and complaints.
- signs, signals and sidewalks, including reporting an issue.
- water, wastewater and stormwater, including reporting issues, Bulk Water Program registration and more.
Further benefits of the reporting tool include a tracking feature to check the status of the submitted inquiry online, the option to receive auto-updates either via email or through the online tool, and the ability to provide feedback upon completion of the request. The City is also working on adding additional services to the platform.
Broken glass and vandalized park equipment are examples of municipal emergencies or problems that require immediate attention. Call the City at 905-832-2281 to report these types of incidents.
People who do not live in Vaughan are also able to submit online requests if the inquiry is directly related to one of Vaughan’s City services. First-time users must create a username and password. Once the applicant has registered successfully, they will be redirected to a login screen. Returning users can log in to the system with the email and password they have previously created.
