Vaughan Alive! School Program Recipients Recognized at Awards Presentation

Schools across the City of Vaughan were recognized at Council on Tuesday, Nov. 19 for their participation in the Vaughan ALIVE! School Program. This initiative celebrates the achievements and creativity of students across the City. The program provides a variety of opportunities for school submissions of year-round initiatives, events and projects in the categories of goodwill, beautification, environmental, active living and arts and culture. 
 
The variety of submissions received for 2013 included artwork collaboratives, video shorts, photo collages and PowerPoint presentations. All submissions were reviewed by a panel of adjudicators.
 
This year’s winners and respective category submissions are as follows:
 
  • Elder’s Mills Public School: beautification, arts and culture, environmental, goodwill and active living categories
  • Glenn Gould Public School: environmental, beautification and arts and culture categories
  • St. David Catholic Elementary School: active living, environmental and goodwill categories
  • St. Gregory the Great Catholic Academy: environmental, beautification and active living categories
  • St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School: goodwill and arts and culture categories
  • St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Elementary School: arts and culture category
  • Westmount Collegiate Institute: goodwill and arts and culture categories 
  • Woodbridge College: beautification and arts and culture categories
