Vaughan Celebrates Doors Open Vaughan And Culture Days
As part of Doors Open Vaughan and Culture Days, more than 30 locations across the City will open their doors to residents and visitors offering free tours, performances, exhibits and displays on September 29 and 30.
The 11 Doors Open Vaughan locations are of historical, architectural, cultural and environmental significance. Sites include heritage homes and church buildings, Kortright Centre for Conservation, Magnotta Winery, McMichael Canadian Art Collection and the Village Market. Various sites will offer tours, presentations, exhibits, historic walks, art exhibitions and more. Most locations are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., unless otherwise specified.
In support of Culture Days, various community organizations and partners will offer hands-on activities including tea sampling, dance performances, cooking demonstrations, art, pottery and cooking workshops, a “Human Book” event, curatorial talks, yoga classes and behind-the-scene tours.
Doors Open and Culture Days are provincial and national celebrations, respectively, which recognize community heritage, arts, architecture and culture. Both events aim to create access, awareness, excitement and participation in arts and culture at a grass-roots level.
