Vaughan Celebrates the Season with 24th Annual WinterFest

Thousands of Vaughan residents and visitors celebrated the winter season at the City of Vaughan’s 24th annual WinterFest held at the North Thornhill Community Centre on Sunday, February 10.

Presented by TD and event sponsor CN, this year’s WinterFest featured free stage entertainment at the outdoor amphitheatre, the Tim Hortons Midway Zone, a new video gaming zone, interactive IceZone, face painting, art, opera and pizza-making workshops, displays and much more.

Stage entertainment included Circus, Circus with Alex the lion from Madagascar 3; performances by Canadian musician Jesse Giddings, host of "the X-Factor Pre-Show" and former Much Music veejay; Bounce Entertainment; Kobbler Jay: The Eccentric Juggler and Doo Doo the International Clown. Mayor Bevilacqua and Members of Council took the stage at 11 a.m. to officially welcome guests.

Another highlight was the appearance of Luke Bilyk, star of the hit television show Degrassi, who was on hand for a free autograph session.


A free shuttle bus service was provided by Can-Ar Coach, allowing guests to p
ark at Vaughan City Hall and take the bus to and from the WinterFest site.
