Vaughan Culture Days and Community Photography Exhibits Celebrate Arts and Culture

The City of Vaughan will be celebrating and promoting local arts and culture with its annual Vaughan Culture Days event and photography exhibits. The initiative takes place from September to November.
 
Culture Days, Sept. 27 and 28
In support of Culture Days held across Canada, various community organizations and local artists will be offering free interactive activities to promote the diverse and multi-talented Vaughan community. Activities will be held Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 at various locations citywide, including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and the Kortright Centre for Conservation. A main hub location at Vaughan City Hall will offer activities on Sept. 27, including tours, Capoeira and Bollywood Dance demonstrations, a photography exhibition, Indo-Western jewelry creations and a collective cultural circle. Vaughan IN FOCUS – a community photography exhibition, Sept. 25 to Nov. 21
The third annual Vaughan IN FOCUS photography exhibition features the work of 13 Vaughan-based photographers and will be on display in the On the Slate Atrium Gallery at Vaughan City Hall. The exhibition will be open to the public Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
 
Portraits of Giving Photography Exhibit, Oct. 13 to 23
Works from the fifth annual Portraits of Giving exhibition by award-winning photographer Karen Merk will be on display in the main atrium at Vaughan City Hall from Oct. 13 to 23. This photographic tribute celebrates the spirit of giving in York Region and is accompanied by character profiles by Melony Teague.
