City Receives Top Honours in Marketing Awards Competitions

The City of Vaughan stands among the best when it comes to promoting economic well-being, quality of life and positive change in the community.

The City was recently recognized for its special-purpose print brochure “York U. in York.” The 88-page presentation — highlighting the City’s strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, major development projects and economic development opportunities — was a business publication created for York University’s site selection request for proposals, as the university looked for an expansion site in York Region.

The publication’s content and design led it to being awarded the “best of the best” from across Canada by the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) after receiving the highest honour of Grand Prize EDAC Cup. The York U. in York publication was also awarded a 2014 Marketing Canada Award by EDAC and the bronze Excellence in Economic Development Award by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Vaughan Council was presented with both awards during a ceremonial presentation on Dec. 9.
