Vaughan Elections App Aims to Keep Voters Informed

Aug. 19, 2014

The City of Vaughan has a new mobile app designed for residents who want to stay up to date and informed about the Vaughan municipal elections on Oct. 27, 2014.

The free elections app has a number of features including information for voters, a link to voterlookup.ca so residents can check to see if they are on the voters’ list, and a City Twitter feed devoted to election-related topics. Additional features will be added to the app in the coming months.

QUOTE

“The elections app is one more channel we can use to share important information with the voting public. Key information will be as close as a person’s pocket. Right now we’re focusing on the voters’ list, but that focus will change as voting day approaches. The most exciting thing about the app is that the relevant information will be customized to the voter. Closer to voting day, the app will be able to map a person’s voting location once they input their address.”
-City Clerk and Returning Officer Jeffrey A. Abrams
