Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council were joined by CTV’s Tom Brown and the East Woodbridge Community Association to celebrate the official launch of Vaughan’s “Dazzle Me!” program at Chancellor Community Centre on June 25.

“The Dazzle Me! program is about taking our City's landscape to the next level,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. “The residents of Vaughan have the great ability to work together for a common cause. They take pride in maintaining and beautifying their properties and care about their neighbourhood and community.  I am confident that this initiative will be a success.”

Vaughan’s “Dazzle Me!” challenge invites community groups to apply to receive up to $3,000 in matching funds for projects that will enhance and beautify a local public space. Through an application process, residents develop a strategy which includes the design, implementation and maintenance of the project.

At the launch, residents and volunteers gathered at the corner of Chancellor Drive and Ansley Grove Road to plant perennials and shrubs that will provide beauty throughout the year.

“The Dazzle Me! program, along with other City of Vaughan beautification programs promotes environmental responsibility, helps foster civic pride and builds stronger communities,” said City Manager, Clayton Harris. “This event is another example of residents, organizations and City staff joining together to create awareness and support the beautifying of public spaces in neighbourhoods throughout our City.”
