Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recently recognized 20 homeowners for helping beautify the City during its annual Curb Appeal program. The program encourages residents and businesses to enhance the appearance of their properties using flowers, plants, shrubs and trees.

“A beautiful landscape does more than enhance the aesthetic appearance of our City, it nourishes our spirit,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. “This recognition ceremony is a way for us to thank the award recipients for their dedication and hard work in creating wonderful landscapes in neighbourhoods across the City. Participants in this year’s Curb Appeal program showed tremendous creativity and demonstrated the kind of community pride that will help Vaughan on its journey to becoming a world class city.”

During the months of July and August, volunteer judges travelled the City looking for properties that stood out. A total of 600 locations were selected and recognized with Curb Appeal signs. Four homes in each of the City’s five wards were then selected for special recognition.

“The Curb Appeal program is a valuable initiative that promotes Vaughan’s quality of life and civic pride,” said City Manager Clayton Harris. “It would not be the success it is without the collective efforts of the community and City staff.”
