The City of Vaughan hosted the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) annual 905 breakfast and bus tour yesterday. This was the first time that NAIOP, a leading organization of developers, owners and related professionals in the office, industrial and mixed-use real estate sector, paid a visit to Vaughan.

“This tour of Vaughan provided an opportunity to showcase the strengths and benefits of our growing City,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. “For more than a decade, Vaughan has been among the country’s leaders when it comes to growth and investment. We recognize the importance of a strong business community and are continuously working to support new growth opportunities for our local businesses.”

More than 120 NAIOP members took part in the bus tour which included a visit to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, the City’s future planned downtown and the final stop on the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension. The bus tour also took the members to the Vaughan Enterprise Zone to see the locations of some of the major companies that have their national and world headquarters here. The Vaughan Enterprise Zone covers more than 1,500 hectares and will accommodate future industrial and commercial expansion in the City of Vaughan.

“It was a pleasure to host the Greater Toronto Chapter of NAIOP,” said City Manager Clayton Harris. “It provided a unique opportunity to share some insights into Vaughan’s successes and the opportunities that exist in our City.”
NAIOP’s Greater Toronto chapter is the third largest of 56 international chapters with more than 775 members, including leading institutional and private sector asset managers, property managers, commercial investors and real estate executives.
