Vaughan to Stream Video Broadcasts of Council and Committee Meetings

Feb. 14, 2014

The City of Vaughan will begin providing live video streaming of Council and committee meetings held in the Council Chamber as of Feb. 18.

“The City of Vaughan is committed to making government accessible to everyone and we are very pleased to be able to now offer video streaming of our Council and committee meetings held in the Council Chamber,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. “The live broadcasts will allow our residents and anyone who is interested in following municipal affairs in Vaughan to become connected from the comfort of their homes.”

The live video broadcasts can be streamed during meetings from the City’s website at vaughan.ca. Videos of meetings will be archived and available on the website at a later date.

The new video broadcast will replace the current audio feed that is available during Council and committee meetings held in the Council Chamber. Audio streaming will continue for committee meetings held outside the Chamber until the video component can be extended.

The schedule of 2014 Council and committee meetings is online at vaughan.ca. Closed sessions will not be broadcast.
