Vaughan's Premier Fundraising Event - the Mayor's Gala - Kicks Off The 2013 Gala Season
Save the date! The City of Vaughan Mayor’s Gala will kick-off the gala season with a spectacular event at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
“As the premier fundraising event in the City of Vaughan, I am excited that the 2013 Mayor’s Gala will lead off the season and raise the profile of the many organizations in our community who need our support,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. “Over the past two years, the Mayor’s Gala has contributed to a wide range of not-for-profit and community groups that reach out to help everyone – youth, seniors, people with special needs, women’s centres, special education schools, and more. The role of these organizations and the essential services that they provide is vital to the future of our growing City.”
The emcee for the 2013 Mayor’s gala will be Rick Campanelli, co-host of Entertainment Tonight (ET) Canada. The Hamilton native got his start on MuchMusic after winning the 1994 MuchMusic Temp contest. He went on to become a popular video jockey and co-host of a number of popular music programs including the MuchMusic Countdown. In 2005, he joined the Entertainment Tonight brand with the launch of ET Canada into the Canadian marketplace as co-host of the popular entertainment television show.
“We are delighted to have Rick Campanelli as emcee for the 2013 Mayor’s Gala,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. “As co-host of the most popular entertainment show in the country, he brings experience to our event, along with an understanding of the importance of community organizations and the role they play in shaping and building a successful city. We are working to make the 2013 Gala a night to remember for everyone in attendance.”
