Vaughan’s snowshoe program is back by popular demand
Registration begins
Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
Back by popular demand, the City of Vaughan is once again offering
snowshoes for everyone to explore the great outdoors this winter! Registration
begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
Once registered, you can borrow a pair of snowshoes, free of
charge starting, Thursday, Dec. 16. Snowshoes are loaned on a weekly basis for
four days, Thursday to Sunday, and include one set of snowshoes per person
registered, while quantities last. A refundable deposit of $50 and a signed mandatory waiver are required at the
time of registration.
Snowshoes are available
for pickup anytime between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. at the registered rental location:
Al Palladini Community Centre, Dufferin Clark Community Centre, Maple Community
Centre, North Thornhill Community Centre or Vellore Village Community Centre.
Available snowshoe sizes:
- 19" – holds up to 80 lbs. (small)
- 23" – holds from 70 to 120 lbs. (medium)
- 25" – holds up to 200 lbs. (large)
- 30" – holds up to 250 lbs. (extra-large)
- 34" – holds up to 300 lbs. (double extra-large)
